About

I started this blog because I grew to dislike social networking sites. MySpace turned into one big Ad frenzy, and Facebook turned into one big privacy nightmare. The MySpace account has been terminated, the Facebook account however is proving to be more difficult considering how easy it is for family to reach me there versus here. Face it, Facebook is the Wal-Mart of the social networking crowd, everyone goes there for nearly everything.

Q: Why “FaceTheReckoning”?
A: Simple, “thereckoning.com” is currently taken. In the days of Xanga, my blog username was “thereckoning”, and so is my Twitter name: @thereckoning

Q: Why is “reckoning” your key word?
A: I drew inspiration from my favorite Western movie, “Tombstone”. Doc Holliday’s description of Wyatt Earp’s “You tell’em I’m coming, and Hell’s coming with me!” massacre of red sash sporting Cowboys was simply put, “It’s a reckoning.” In this day and age, the blogosphere is that ever expanding platform to put your opinion out there. It doesn’t matter if you have readers or not, it just means that you are putting yourself out there.

Q: What causes you to write a blog?
A: Usually, something that affects me personally. Other things are politics, the news, random stuff, and the moments where I feel argumentative.

Q: Are you liberal, or conservative?
A: I’m not a liberal. I’m embarrassed of conservatives. Libertarians would be a band-wagon reaction for me, and so I like to be independent in my political beliefs.

Q: Will you ever post pictures?
A: I hope so. I’d like to, but don’t expect to be wowed with my photography skills.
