Nick found a great article here and here’s the article of the same story found at CNN here. The CNN article gave a few more details that are important and caused me make additions to this post.

Nutshell: Student was suspended from school for making a 14 ft. “Bong hits 4 Jesus” banner at a school-sanctioned event.

“The message on Frederick’s banner is cryptic,” Roberts said. “But Principal Morse thought the banner would be interpreted by those viewing it as promoting illegal drug use, and that interpretation is plainly a reasonable one.”
